A reminder that Bill Heron will be have a magnificently crafted display of "ancient" golf clubs (circa 1905) during the tournament at Pike Lake.
Bill has a great interest in golf, has served as an official at the Canadian Open on many occasions, and has the display of various clubs matching those used more than 100 years ago.
As well, he has a special wooden carved tribute dedicated to a famous Ontario golfer, that has been signed by dozens of the touring professional golfers in the world, including many of the top current PGA pros.
Plan to visit the display at the Pike Lake Golf Course clubhouse during registration and lunch prior to the 2010 tournament or during the social hour and dinner. Bill has wonderful stories for each of you!

Mar 26, 2009, 10:16 pm In 1990, the first official golf tournament was held as a fun event for staff and friends of Huronia Hockey Camp. Naturally, the event was held at Pike Lake Golf Course on Thursday July 9 with 32 golfers participating.
(see

In 1989, a group of friends gathered in August for a fun round of golf at Foxwood Golf Course near Baden, followed by a BBQ at the Thompson residence in Waterloo. Foursomes were selected by a cut of the cards and seven teams hit the links. Two teams were tied at 68 (-4) and a putting playoff was held.
